This course will give you inside information on how to get from point A to point B. Taught by seasoned NYC fashion designer James Boone. This course will teach a brief history of Fashion Design and also explore all of the various careers available in today’s market.
Week One- Fashion Design: What it was then and what it is now

From Christian Dior to Ralph Lauren to Forever 21- a history of Design

Class Exercise- brainstorm all of the different jobs now as opposed to then.
Week Two- Getting a degree: What is best for ME and what I want to do?

Discuss different degree plans and what you NEED to get into these highly competitive programs.

Class Exercise- Discuss each students strengths and help to figure out where he or she should focus their energy.
Week Three-Lets Go: Where do I start?

Getting a proper portfolio together

Class Exercise- create the first page to your portfolio and answer any questions about career requirements in the industry.
